| Few women in history have made as big of an impact as Mierin Eronaile. A former lover to Lews Therin Telamon, Mierin was considered to be the most beautiful woman of the Age. As a researcher at the Sharom in Collam Daan during the Age of Legends, she believed that her research would reveal a way that men and women could work with a common Power. When she and her team drilled what later became the Bore, the Dark One was freed and war engulfed the world.

Mierin gave her soul to the Dark One, and was the only Forsaken who chose her own name... Lanfear, Daughter of the Night. She is unrivaled in her strength and mastery of the One Power. Indeed, there is speculation that she literally was as strong in the Power as was humanly possible for a woman. When she awoke 3,000 years later from her "dreamless sleep" in the Dark One's prison, she set out to find Lews Therin. She found him in Rand, and sought to seduce him to her cause. She believed that with the Choeden Kal, they could challenge the Dark One, or even the Creator.
Her dreams of limitless power ended on the docks of Cairhien when Moiraine Sedai seemingly sacrificed herself and sent her into the twisted doorway which leads to the land of the Aelfinn. What happened there is as of yet unknown but it is widely speculated that Cyndane, who wears a cour'souvra, a Mindtrap, which is controlled by Moridin, just might be Lanfear and we also know that the Dark One has given her a "Last Chance". | |
